This Policy describes how Common Ground Agencia Migratoria, S. de R.L. de C.V. (hereinafter “Common Ground”) uses cookies and similar technologies on its website commonground.mx (the “Website”).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the user’s device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) when they visit it. Cookies let the website remember information about the visit, which can make the next visit easier and the website more useful.
Similar technologies include, among others, web beacons, pixels and the browser’s local storage (localStorage / sessionStorage).
2. Categories of cookies used by the Website
The Website uses two categories of cookies, classified as follows:
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
They enable the basic operation of the Website. They load automatically and do not require consent.
| Category | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technical | commonground.mx | Basic website operation, language preferences, recording your choice on the cookie banner | Session / 12 months (cookie consent) |
2.2 Analytics and measurement cookies
They show how users interact with the Website so we can improve content and experience. They load only if the user gives consent through the cookie banner.
| Tool | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Google LLC, United States | Statistical analysis of traffic, traffic sources, page views and conversions, with anonymized IP address | Up to 14 months (_ga, _ga_* cookies) |
| Microsoft Clarity | Microsoft Corporation, United States | Heat maps and anonymized session recordings to understand user behavior and improve usability | Up to 12 months |
2.3 Marketing cookies (potential, not active as of today)
The Controller reserves the option to activate marketing and retargeting cookies in the future, also subject to express consent through the banner. Until consent is given or the tool is operational, these cookies do not load.
| Tool | Source | Purpose | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Pixel | Meta Platforms, Inc., United States | Conversion measurement and campaign retargeting on Facebook and Instagram | Not active |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | LinkedIn Corporation, United States | Conversion measurement and campaign retargeting on LinkedIn | Not active |
The status of each tool may be updated without prior notice as its activation is decided; in any case, it will only actually load with the user’s consent.
3. Consent banner
When you first visit the Website, a cookie banner will appear with two options:
- “Accept all” — authorizes analytics cookies and, where applicable, marketing cookies.
- “Necessary only” — limits loading to strictly necessary cookies.
The user’s choice is kept in the browser for twelve (12) months. After that period, or if the user requests it, the banner will appear again. The user can review or change their choice at any time from the “Cookies” link in the Website footer.
4. International transfers and data received by third parties
Using Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and, where applicable, Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag means that data such as the user’s IP address, browser type and requested URL may be transferred to and processed by their respective providers in the United States of America. Each provider handles that data under its own policies:
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
- Microsoft: privacy.microsoft.com
- Meta: facebook.com/privacy/policy
- LinkedIn: linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
These international transfers are made in accordance with article 36 of the LFPDPPP and, where applicable, under standard contractual clauses or equivalent terms with the provider.
5. Managing and disabling cookies
Users can set their browser to accept, reject or delete cookies. Most browsers let you:
- View stored cookies and delete them one by one
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close the browser
Disabling cookies may affect how some Website features work. For more information on managing cookies, see your browser’s documentation:
